In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together: flour, sugar, vanilla sugar or the seeds from a vanilla pod (split in half and scraped with a knife), a pinch of salt, and baking powder.
Melt the butter in a double boiler or in the microwave on low power.
Make a well in the center of the dry mixture to incorporate the eggs, melted butter or butter melted in a saucepan, and half of the milk. Mix well to avoid lumps forming, gradually incorporating the rest of the milk. You should end up with a smooth, thick, and homogeneous pancake batter.
On the hot, greased surface of the pancake maker, pour a small ladle of batter without spreading it. As soon as you see bubbles forming on the surface of the pancake, it's time to flip it.
